Matchup Difficulty is an estimate of the difficulty a defender takes on with their defensive matchups/assignments. At the team level, we use this data to calculate how long the ball is in a player’s hands vs in the air for passes.įormula: Time of Possession = Touches * Time per Touch ![]() Time of Possession is the length of time a player has the ball in their hands. If a player has a 5% touch share, their touches make up 5% of their team’s total touches per game.įormula: Value Share = Player’s Value / Team Total Value These calculations look at the percentage of the team’s minutes/possessions/touches/etc.
